The team at Radio Mensajero is made up of several full-time workers who serve the ministry with dedication. This project will fund a complete brand new house for a young family with a little daughter. The current house has deteriorated to the point of not being worth repairing. Both parents work at the radio diligently with their talents in communication, administration and technical skills. The wife hosts Spanish programs and organizes events, while the husband provides technical services. The current house is owned by the ministry and is right across the street from the radio station near the antenna. This allows the technician to be readily available for any technical issues as well as for regular maintenance of the broadcasting equipment and antenna. The ministry aims to provide a mold and draft free living space for these faithful workers.
Below is the text from the PDF with more details:
At "Radio Mensajero", we have several homes that are made available to full-time radio staff, as some come from far away. The radio ministry owns 4 such houses. The budget for maintenance of the 6 buildings (including radio station and separate studio buildings) is around 2% of the total operating budget; not enough to keep these buildings from significantly deteriorating. We hereby present one of the housing units, constructed out of wood, in which the natural wear and tear has been left unaddressed for years. In winter, mold accumulates in a large part of the house. Several parts of the wooden wall are already rotten and the electrical and sanitary installations have numerous problems. In light of the deplorable state this house is in, and with little hope to recover the structure, a new construction project is being proposed.
